"AN ART THAT IS PERFORMED ON A FOUR-COUNT RHYTHM BETWEEN TEN AND TWO O'CLOCK" . This is one of my Trompe L'Oeil Ceramic Sculptures. It is all made out of clay. Stoneware and Porcelain. I am intrigued with Trompe L'Oeil sculpture. I became fascinated with the idea of telling stories through clay. I love the simplicity of everyday objects to create them in clay and arrange them in a narrative fashion delights me. I love the attention to detail; to shapes, textures, and colors. It is both challenging and rewarding to see a piece come together and know that I've succeeded in finding a story within the commonplace. This piece has the elements of fly fishing to tell the story of the title. The elements are made true to size to really 'fool the eye'. The book, the creel basket, the hat and flies and reel look as they appear but they are made from clay.
