"LIFE" is an 8'6" by 8'6" square steel plate that supports 18 Base Pairs of DNA. The Base pairs are constructed with 8 inch I beam encased in a 10" 11 gauge double Helix. The Base Pairs are topped with a 4 foot spire spelling LIFE which brings the height of the structure to 18'. "LIFE" is supported on 4 corners by I beam structures that represent Man, Insect, Plants, and Fish. Landing on top of the double Helix is an I Beam bird. After all DNA is a "living" thing, not a human thing. I have 2 Goals. # 1 for people to say "WOW, That's cool." But then as they begin to study the structure I hope my second goal is accomplished ... the AH Ha moment when they realize that the same material that makes up the DNA double helix also makes up all the supporting creatures, and thus maybe realizing that every living thing is connected. I intend for my Art Work To make people think and at the same time be amazed. Watch The Freels Science Quest Video on You Tube at the link below.
