In this piece, “Wisdom”, the figure has no head. It is implied by the position of the arms which outlines a round void. The viewer is presented with a sculpture entitled “Wisdom”, but absent the appendage most commonly associated with that concept. In one sense it is a visual riddle,” What type of wisdom exists without the head?” The answer is in the sculpture’s emphasis on the areas of the body associated with regeneration. I believe the biological capacity to rear offspring is connected to the human imperative for moral thought. That is essentially what this piece explores.
