"Under Currents" is a large encaustic wax painting over an image of waves on fresco plaster that includes embedded materials, marred surfaces, and pigmented wax to partially obscure the image. The multi-layered, mixed-media process represents an ongoing environmental series that uses distress and obstruction imposed on the landscape to reflect harmful environmental threats confronting us as we call for effective conservation and protection of our Great Lakes, rivers and streams.
