This work is a continuation of a figurative series I have been exploring that uses modern-day people placed in environments that reference to the stories of ancient mythology. The playful nature of this series stems from an integration of saturated palettes and a popular, present-day vision of retro culture. Elements from the ancient myths of the Norse goddess Freyja provide a conceptual framework as well as an implied narrative for this particular painting.
