Flu Season

Art from chaos. This art was created during flu season in a pharmacy using a specialized prescription scanner. I stumbled upon it quite by accident. Point the scanner in the right direction and you have a lifeless image of data, misplace the scanner head by only a small amount and you have captured something wonderful. Flu season in the pharmacy is a hectic time for everyone. It is our busiest time of year. Pharmacy workers are expected to process, bill, and administer a strict quota of flu shots in addition to their normal crippling workload of dispensing lifesaving medication. To handle this influx of people we are granted no extra manpower and no pay incentives. In the world of drive-through pharmacy where medication is treated like fast food and patients are treated as customers this can lead to frustrations. These are snapshots in time, the scanner only sees things in black and white. It can not capture the frustration and pain all around it. Flu Season is art born from chaos.
