On Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at 10:35 in the morning, a photograph was taken of the window in this space at the City Water Building in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This image was then digitally decoded from the light, shadow, and reflections that fell on the window at that given time, and reconstructed into a taxonomy of color and line/shape. The series of visual information demonstrates an objective collection of data which has been subjectively altered by the viewer, the camera, and even the time of day from which the initial information was recorded. The separation of these design elements into two groups run parallel to one another, meeting and overlapping at the perspective of the viewer to compose a new image - much like our binary vision assembles information and new meaning in our daily lives.
