The "Traditional Patterns, Surreal Skies" series includes 6 photographs of iconic Chicago buildings/views (Wrigley Building & Tribune Tower, Water Tower & John Hancock Building, Merchandise Mart, Allerton Hotel & John Hancock Building, Museum of Science and Industry, and Northern Chicago Skyline), and 2 photographs of international locations (Melbourne, Australia & Matsue, Japan) . These digital photographs are printed with a sepia filter to give a day time feel to them. The sky in each piece (inspired by Aboriginal and Japanese art) is hand-painted in acrylic, and building/landscape details are hand-painted in oil or acrylic. Each piece is conservation framed that includes triple matting (Rag Mats: light/dark brown imitation suede, purple, black), conservation clear glass, and black/brown metal frame. The dimensions (in inches) indicated below apply to each piece in the series (except Traditional Patterns, Surreal Skies - III with 9 3/4 inch width and 11 1/2 inch height).
