"A Window to The Soul of Michigan"

Mary Alexander's avatar Mary Alexander

These 12 antique windows. recycled from homes built nearly a century ago are put together to encompass the heart and soul of all that is Michigan in one snapshot of our beloved state. The first window features the De Zwaan Windmill in Holland Michigan, the only Dutch working windmill, the second has balloonists floating above our sand dunes that line the shores of Lake Michigan. Our agricultural state boasts acres upon acres of farmland, rich with fruit trees and grape vineyards. An old Ford sits in the field, reminding us of the Motor City, automobile capital of the world. Our state is surrounded by beautiful beaches and lakes, with ample fishing and boating opportunities. A postcard is not complete without our amazing Mackinac Bridge, and lighthouses that have guided many fishermen home. Michigan is also abundant in wildlife, home to the Whitetail deer, our state animal. Can you spot the ten symbols of Michigan?
