The Human Soul

Comprised of nineteen 18" x 24" watercolor panels, "The Human Soul" is an attempt to capture the essence of Truth. More specifically, the truth about what we are as human beings. And in searching for that truth we naturally assume we are looking for something concrete and logical. Deep down, however, we inherently know that we as humans are anything but concrete and logical. And yet we relentlessly pursue our quest for truth (read: happiness) with the mindset that we will be happy when we get there. But the truth of Truth is that truth is a verb, like God, and like you. When you look closely you will see that everything is a verb, that everything is in a constant state of action. Even a rock, which we consider to be fixed and stable is in the constant process of breaking down. At the same time, the rock being broken down is helping contribute to something else. A beach, for example. In this way the rock that is dispersed never really dies, it merely transforms into something else.
