The Lily and the Rose

The lily and the Rose each overshadow the city(NYC) with the high line towards the bottom. The lily symbolizes Renewal, Spring and Ressurection The rose symbolizes God as Triune suggested in T.S. Eliot’s poem “The Hollow Men” : “…Multifoliate Rose, the only hope of empty men”. The city is God’s dwelling place, the New Jerusalem redeemed, reclaimed Rev. 21. Each flower shows the need of the city’s renewal both in summer and winter to represent anytime is God’s time.
