A Union in Stress

Jerry Ward's avatar Jerry Ward

The synergy of a union, in its presence as a stronger force against opposing forces, remains unquestioned through the ages. Yet any bond, suffers from the ravages of time through differences as well as indifference. In the end this causes a stress that endangers the union itself, threatening a separation that would cause both elements of thought to wither and die on their own. My sculpture begs the question, "Which is more important.... freedom of self determination, or strength against common enemies?" , or is there a third option?
