The Colors of Freedom

Jim Connelly's avatar Jim Connelly

Summary of Artist’s Statement Titled The Colors of Freedom, these paintings celebrate the foundational virtues of work, honor and reverence in the development of the United States of America. The cowboy is used in these works because of the iconic stature he holds as bearer of these traditional values. Individually the works are titled, Work, Honor and Reverence. WORK is for independent farmers, ranchers, and all small business owners, for that matter, who take the risks and work the hours to provide for their families by offering goods in a free market. HONOR gives respect to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in keeping our country secure and free, and also gives special thanks to the men and women who serve in our armed forces. REVERENCE gives thanks and recognition to God who by His grace and kindness has overseen and blessed us with a great land and system of personal freedom and national prosperity.
