For ArtPrize 2015, the foyer at Bagger Dave's will be transformed into an experimental interactive artwork. "Your Neighbor's Bowl" is an artwork that relies on the generosity of others. The piece invites individuals to post things that they can offer their neighbors for free under the categories Goods, Services, and Money. Anyone at the exhibition can contribute and take these postings off the windows. Services could include haircuts, lawn care, and legal aid. Goods could be dish-ware or a used computer. Money will be posted in envelopes through a blind donation system. The piece will be constantly changing throughout the exhibition allowing viewers to literally watch the generosity of others happen. People who fill out a give sheet will deposit their punch hole in the fishbowl as a representation of the goods, services, or money given to their neighbors. Any and all money won from the juried or public vote will be handed out at random in downtown Grand Rapids after Artprize.
