The Wooded Path

It has taken me many years to find the confidence to do a painting of the path behind our home. The wooded path is also part family property gives me many memories of fun times with siblings and cousins. We explored the dense forest of trees that my father and grandfather planted sometime in the 1940's. My children also have memories of forts, bike riding and finding frogs in the wetland and pond at the end of the path. The pine woods are home to deer and owls that are present yet silent as the other inhabitants are noisy squirrels and woodpeckers. As an adult, the path has become a place for a quiet walk to think, pray and meditate.
