Sunflowers

Sunflowers is a bronze relief triptych depicting the cycle of life. The right panel represents birth, the center life, and the left, death. I chose the Sunflowers as a symbol of growing up with my family in rural Michigan. This piece was influenced by ancient Middle Eastern relief sculpture with the repetition of form and scalloped border and is hence read from right to left.
