Photograph of fireflies during a full moon. The story of how this image was made: Last year during one of the super moons I went out to photograph fireflies, which is a project I have been working on for a few years. I drove out of Lansing, MI into the countryside, and came across a dirt road where I could see the super moon hovering in the sky over a field with hundreds of fireflies. I pulled over and got my camera out, it was very dark, the only light was coming from the moon so I couldn't see very far in front of me. As I was working on getting the right shot I started to hear noises nearby. It sounded like something or someone was nearby breathing. I had no idea what was lurking in the darkness, but I knew I wasn't alone. I stayed still listening to breathing on the other side of some foliage, unsure if it was a wild animal, while I got the right shot. As soon as I knew I had want I wanted I left as quickly as I could. I never found out what was keeping me company that night.
