My work is about the connections people make. It contains a variety of photographs showcasing the relationships between people in front of the lens as well as the relationship between myself and the person I am shooting. The idea of someone connecting with my camera, or in other words, me, does not necessarily mean they are aware of the interaction. Most of the time they are not even aware of my presence. I enjoy spontaneity while shooting. While we could always plan the shot, I prefer to capture the moment in real time without an agenda, models, or even a set. When chance works in my favor I snap the picture. I believe I am holding onto the aesthetics of film, even though I am not always shooting with film. The chance one takes when he or she cannot instantly see the image provokes a thrill within me. This spontaneous way of working adds to the excitement of viewing the image afterwards for both myself and my models. Most of my art is about connecting with people and forms.
