Troll Bridge

Justin La Doux's avatar Justin La Doux

Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas are connected by The Mackinac Bridge. The yoopers north of the bridge and trolls south. I have lived in Michigan as a troll my whole life and wanted to share my version the famous Billy Goats Gruff Story. Once upon a time, there was a giant metal bridge built by the reclaimers. The king of Castle Salvage wanted the bridge constructed so everyone in the land could join him in celebrating his 57th birthday. Shortly after the reclaimers finished the mighty bridge an ugly, smelly troll came. The troll made the bridge his new home. The troll was mean and nasty not letting anyone cross. When anyone tried, the troll would catch them and lock them away in cages for his dinner. Time passed with no challenge for the bridge, so the troll thought he would own it forever. All of that came to an end one day when a trio of billy goats needed to cross the massive bridge. They wanted to eat the flowers on the other side of the raging river...
