Seed "Banks" Seed banks exist all over the world. These banks exist in many forms, none of them "piggy" shaped. They storing a variety of plant species to guarantee genetic crop diversity. These banks preserve seeds for research, and protect seeds from man-made and natural disaster, disease and climate change. Out of 7,000 species of plants available for agricultural use on Earth, only 30 crops make up the world's diet. Most of these crops are varieties of corn, wheat, and rice. This piece was created to bring social awareness to the importance of protecting our food diversity through the use of seed banks. Banking seeds is something we currently do "right" in our global society.
