My Mom's House

My mother has lived in her beautiful house for over 60 years and always loved it. But now that she’s in her nineties and needs a walker to get around, her house has taken on even more meaning for her. It’s her safe haven, source of comfort and entertainment and likewise for my sister Mary and me as we spend more time there helping her out. The various digitally enhanced photos in the three 20" x 20" posters tell the story of my mom’s life nowadays on Elizabeth Street. It’s a sunny, upbeat routine (though restricted) filled with furnishings she cherishes, flowers and garden vistas, pastimes like knitting, a little light housework, and her ever present rescue dog, Benji. The three of us along with the dog have good times there and have little need right now to get out and explore distant locales as there’s no place like mom’s. Thanks for taking a glimpse into her world. I hope it gave you a feel for the beauty and charm of both my mother and her surroundings.
