Double Vision

Bruce Stelwagen's avatar Bruce Stelwagen

This is an art form called “Scherenschnitte,” a paper cutting of a tree from 2 different angles. When you cross your eyes (Double Vision) until you see 3 trees, the middle one will appear in 3 dimensions. This is the same stereoscopic technique used by photographers since 1833 (photography was invented in 1826). Two trees in the Bible: One was planted by God in a garden - The other was made and planted by man in a garden; One was pleasant to the eyes - The other was hideous & repellent; God forbade man to eat it’s fruit - God invites us to, “Taste and see that the Lord is good”; One brought sin and death - The other brought life and salvation; But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis 2:17; He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree (the cross), so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24
