All of a Sudden

"All of a Sudden" is intended to take you for a ride. It's a free organic approach to an optical playground. Hopefully your eyes wander and your mind focuses. I use colorful and repetitious shapes to achieve this, layering in a playful and dynamic way. There is a natural, continuous motion, allowing these forms to work together, as a group. Lines overlap until a translucent, psychedelic environment emerges. "All of a sudden, the universe happened. Elements formed life. Life crowded together. Nature works in patterns and repetition. Without warning, beautiful moments occur, colors appear, memories emerge and fade.... We transition, surge, and float.." My mural was painted specifically with the space in mind, located on the second floor of the Downtown Market. The shorter wall near the restrooms works together with the long hallway forming the "transition" which moves into the "surge" and ends with the "float". I hand-painted my mural over the course of 5 days.
