Birds, Bones, Eggs and Nests

Birds, Bones, Nests and Eggs, is inspired and informed by the WMU ornithology collection of bird study specimens, bird skeletons, eggs, nesting samples, field notes and specimen tags. Although collected not that long ago, it seems like a rediscovered hidden treasure. My artistic response, to the specimens and the collection itself, in its physical organization, of each item in drawers, on shelves, labels, catalogue cards, and notes is a reflection of what I see and appreciate in nature as well as a reflection of academic categorizing in our recent past. blog /
