Tree of Tranquility

Troy DeBruyn's avatar Troy DeBruyn

I have created the sights and sounds of water for the past twenty years, it has been a passion of mine. Up to this point I have done this through designing and building ponds, waterfalls and water features created with various types of natural stone. My actual vocation is in metal fabrication. This art piece draws the two together! The tree stands 9 foot tall and is just under 8 foot wide and has water falling from its 100 leafs. My inspiration for this piece came to me when I was cleaning up the yard and putting things away for the winter months. My aunt had given us a swamp cabbage leaf made out of pottery clay, and I started imaging this leaf in a metal form on a tree with water falling from it. From this the “Tree of Tranquility” was created.
