#theselfproject is a body of work that is used to start the discussion regarding psychological and socialological effects of actions and habits this modern age. It consists of 5 mirrors with self reflective phrases in which the viewer is encouraged to take selfies in the image with the phrase that corresponds them and upload them to social media. The phrases are eradicated from the mirror creating a void in the form of the viewer indicating that the phrase and viewer are codependant. A library is created on the likes of Instagram and Twitter The original question was what are the reasons why people take selfies. The end result is one, showing that people have commonalities in order to stop division in a society and two, ask the question does this behavior make us more sharing of a people or more narcissistic and self centered. Depending on the setting these works can be free standing wall mounted or installed as an outdoor installation. *works pictured are STUDIES*
