Recently, I have been concentrating my work on landscapes. I love to photograph the land and connect to nature. I do this by walking the land and taking pictures. I consider my experience and the aesthetic quality of an image as I photograph, process and print. When I photograph digitally, I expand the creative process in post production as well as the conceptual idea. I use photography as a means to document the world around me. My goal is to make photographs that draw viewers into the now. A focus on details keeps us in the present. My choice of subject comes from a place of intuition. I look for the light within the shadows and the uncommon in the common. I work with landscapes, attempting to illustrate abstract, evocative scenery as a motif to epitomize the idea of imagined space, a reminder that what I create through the viewfinder is only real to me. I am inspired to compose by the contrast of light and dark.
