MYOW is a multi-platform Social Engagement Project with Site Specific Installation that began with old fashioned grassroots tricycling coupled with social media outreach & daily blogging. It is participation oriented, conversation driven, awareness based and aesthetically conceived. Sotak originally triked along 131 miles of multi-use canal path in Arizona discussing desert Water. Individuals are invited to have their portrait taken with the trike & the encounter is shared on the daily blog. Participation in the project is encouraged through the submission of personal water stories or imagery which are also shared on the blog. The illuminated sign reading “My Your Our” was launched into the longest river in the only state to touch 4 out of the 5 Great Lakes. Water is a local, national, global connection. Participation in Art Prize 2015, in a community that has the Grand River running through it, is the ideal expansion of the My Your Our Water conversation. www.myyourourwater.com
