"Flight" is a 16 ft x 6ft wall installation that is composed of 4,000 hand cut Mylar birds. The canopy of birds in flight creates a wave-like form and this undulating topography is lit from behind by 15,000 tiny LED's. This piece is inspired by the graceful movements of starling murmuration and other natural wonders. And the presence of these awe inspiring phenomena in our everyday life. The 96 square foot hanging form is modular and it's parts are arranged in an abstract geometry. A slight hue variation in the light of the individual sections is intended to represent landscape as seen from above. As if this sublime aerial ballet is taking place over the golden crops of the American patchwork farmland.
