Midnight Garden

I'm an abstract artist working in a variety of mediums, but I love mixed media! This is a 6' x 3' piece called Midnight Garden. It was created with acrylic, charcoal, acrylic ink and pastel on board. To me it speaks of the process of God restoring beauty after the fall...beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified!! (Isaiah 61:3) Art for me is not just artwork, it’s worship. When I’m creating I’m often keenly aware of my connection to eternity and my Papa God. My hope is my art would speak to others that way as well. Even if we don’t see God in the same way, my desire is for the viewer to experience something greater than themselves, even if just for a moment when viewing my work…a glimpse of peace, hope, love, joy, creativity, refreshing, comfort, a tender moment of the heart and also be inspired to recognize their own creative capacity. I believe each of us has a creative call on our lives. My desire is to inspire others to be more fully who they were created to be…to identify their own creative thumb print and bring it to life.
