Bountiful Catch

“Bountiful Catch” is part of a series concentrated around the idea of gifts; gifts related to the human spirit. This piece has to do with the gift of friendship and camaraderie. The influence comes from my grandpa, who probably encouraged my passion for art more than anyone else. Western Canada was where he lived, and he was a huge outdoorsman. My grandpa was very jovial, and a friend to people from all walks of life. The four men, including my grandpa, are basking in their catch of trout from northern Saskatchewan. Of course the fish are bigger than life, and their admiration for the fish is also unmatched by the fellowship they shared while catching the fish together. Written on the painted fish in pastel is "Remember the Catch, More than a Catch, Hold on to the Catch." It’s the people in our lifetime we are blessed to share our time with who truly enrich our lives.
