The Word Made Flesh

Matt Pascucci's avatar Matt Pascucci

'The Word Made Flesh' is a many layered story, each character plucked from the Bible and drawn in a way to relate to our society. Whether it be Adam and Eve as wandering teens, stopping for a snack on the side of the road, or Wisdom, shown as a middle aged woman, pleading above the crowd in a busy market place. Every character has a very deliberate reason for looking the way they do- from the way their hair is done, to the very direction they're facing. This massive charcoal drawing is most closely associated with Renaissance art, in its realism and perspective on humanity, and like many Renaissance paintings, there is a very deep scriptural connection, while also being relevant to our current society.
