Stellar Raging

This painting of an astronaut peering into a stellar nursery represents all of humanity's dreams and quests for the stars. This painting came about from my many years of fascination with the cosmos and astrophysics. As a little kid I distinctly remember first learning from my art teacher that the stars weren't all white; they were blue and yellow and red and all different shapes and sizes and luminosities! I was shocked. Then in fourth grade my world was further rocked by the fact that Saturn isn't the only planet with rings! Earth shattering, no, space shattering if you will excuse the terrible pun. The stars, planets, galaxies, black holes, quasars, pulsars, stellar nurseries, super-clusters, you name it, can only be imitated so much. In the large scheme of things these many generations of human depictions only describe our child-like dreams of being this astronaut. With just a few more small steps for man, this can be you.
