Line Drawings

My line drawings are the result of an intuitive process of imagination and emotion both spontaneous and highly disciplined. These are intricate and abstract works done with a micron 005 pen on arches 140 lb paper. From the infinitesimal to the infinite they are inner landscapes full of voice and symbol. They point to a language of hope and strength existentially grounded in struggle. They are organic architectures of balance and geometry where light and wind are given substance and structure. There is within them both movement and stillness- a sense of the generation and unfolding of untold energies as well as a kind of quiet repose in the midst of it all. These are contemplative pieces that bear repeated viewings. I have always found their presence in my life a healing one.
