Sean Paul Lorentz's avatar Sean Paul Lorentz

The artist's artistic vocabulary has developed largely around the use of steel. Although some of his work is kinetic—intended to move through time and space—other works strongly suggest movement through bold compositions and the careful manipulation of materials. As shown in the present sculpture, the artist's articulation of form stands in elegant balance to the gritty, seemingly urban, use of steel. In the context of a gallery setting, the suggestion of movement is imbued with a sense of grace and timelessness. About his sculpture, the artist states: My work is the product of an instinctive process involving personal experience and the perpetual development of skills within the mediums of life and steel. Each piece is cumulative of the knowledge gained from the ones preceding it, and represents the fluid evolution of my abilities as human and sculptor.
