The visual arts and music are intertwined into a single experience, as I perceive music as color and form. My work is about rhythm (pattern) and melody (color) and it is rooted in my experiences as a musician. My latest artwork is inspired by people and their stories and I hope my paintings will be engaging by being a bit mysterious, while being playful. Currently, I am pushing the boundaries of psychological thought by creating distortion of the figure through proportion and color. The characterization of these musicians and instruments is purposely distorted to give emphasis to the grandness of the music. Unity of thought and purpose is an integral part of a musical performance, as the musicians become intertwined into a single experience. "Quartet" - Acrylic on 4 ft x 6ft panel
