Coal Piles

I’m influenced by landscape, both man-made and natural. Piles of materials changing daily as they are being used or affected by weather give me the sense they are living, breathing organisms. Built structures seen from a distance through a car window bring to mind the activity in and around them. Natural forms growing and changing with time and weather slowly form relationships with each other. My entry is three sculptures that are based off the work I’m doing influenced by coal piles. The sculptures will be grouped together as seen in the images of earlier work posted above, Coal Piles Sculpture and Coal Piles Sculpture II. I’ve also included a few examples of my paintings since they relate to the my exploration of form and color.
