A GIRLS FREEDOM

In my opinion American women are the luckiest as they are the most liberated in the entire world. The whole world looks up to you and hence this piece of art was created to show the world, that in my country, women are still struggling & fighting for that liberation in terms of freedom and equality. My painting depicts a woman who would like to live freely like her western sisters, trying to unshackle or free herself & come out of her struggle who has been treated like a blind goat. I believe in wielding my brush for their rights. The world is modernized, yet women are ill-treated in this male dominant society. Every woman undergoes some sort of violence or inequality during their lifetime. Physical, sexual and psychological violence strikes women in epidemic proportions worldwide. It crosses every social and economic class, religion, race and ethnicity. From domestic abuse to rape as a weapon of war, violence against women is a gross violation of their human rights. If the world does not address the issue, it stands to suppress the enormous potential of women. Not only does it threaten women's health and their social and economic well-being, it also thwarts global efforts to reduce poverty. In India alone, around 70% of women are victim of these violent acts in one or the other form. Abuse against women begins at home. Girl babies are being illegally aborted even before they are born as they are considered a stigma or a burden. Other forms of abuse include domestic violence, emotional, financial, physical and sexual abuse and sexual violence. I humbly request you to support me in my journey of seeking worldwide attention and awareness to set the girl free and if this touches your heart and you are willing to stand up to support this cause please vote for me.
