BACK TO NATURE Kevin Dean Taylor BACK TO NATURE is a sculpture about escaping the stress of urban life. It is an 8’ cube finished in a high gloss automotive paint with a 1 foot white grid on all sides. It’s constructed of plywood framing and an MDF skin. Upon approach, the viewer will notice doorways on opposite sides. When entered, the viewer is surround by acoustic foam, absorbing the sounds of the event outside. In the center of the room is a “c” shaped diorama measuring approx. 7’w x 4’h x 3’-5’deep, about 80 cubic feet. The scene depicts a grass and rock covered bluff overlooking seven lakes with a mountain range in the distance. The back, side and top of the diorama are made from milk plexiglass with a sunset painted on it. Behind the plexiglass are several battery powered LED light fixtures making the sky glow and lighting the display. Perched on the bluff to the right, is a 4” cube replicating the 8’ cube the viewer is standing in. Kevin Dean Taylor
