Forest Of Hope

(This photo is an example piece of my wood-carved artwork. The actual piece "Forest Of Hope" is currently in progress, and is a much larger: @8 foot x 9 foot.) "Forest of Hope," will be hand carved, deep relief of basswood, and will feature heavily textured surfaces with earthy tones. It will be a visual play in full, floor to ceiling, wall mounted presentation. At first glance the viewer will feel as if they are standing in a forest, until a deeper look reveals a small newborn elephant calf peering from behind giant tree trunks . Suddenly the truth becomes clear, the trees are the actual protective legs of adult African Elephants gathered around their treasured child. This piece is meant to universally symbolize the importance of our children, endanger species and vanishing forests. Hope for our future lies in a forest of love.
