The Gradient of Humanity

Veronica Kirin's avatar Veronica Kirin

A photographic study on skin tone and the beauty humans have to offer - participants arranged from lightest to darkest tone. It is a reflection on the beauty of humanity, both skin deep and beneath the skin. Meant as a celebration, this piece will challenge its viewers to see beyond their first impressions and address the essence of what we are. Participants will be arranged from lightest skin tone to the darkest, akin to the sketch above. While it's first purpose is not to address socio-racial issues, it is my hope that the arrangement of participants without clear separation will break down the 'black and white' we give so many issues. ----- Information can be found at The website features further information regarding the project, as well as all participants and why they chose to be a part of the project.
