The New Neighbor

All ink was applied with a Hunt 104 fine point pen nib. Higgins and Bombay inks were used, with the colors mixed, and/or diluted or used straight from the bottle. Some areas were blotted with a tissue. Some years ago, when turkeys were new to the area, a hen turkey took up residence in my parents barn, and would roost at night in the rafters. One morning when she came down, a doe and her triplets happened to be in the yard, and just like us humans, the deer were apparently curious about this new neighbor. The setting is early fall and the fawns are starting to lose their spots. Deer enthusiasts may note the double throat patch on the doe and one of the fawns.
