2014 Grand Island Ice Caves

Todd and Brad Reed's avatar Todd and Brad Reed

In March 2014 Todd and Brad Reed traveled to Grand Island in Michigan's Upper Peninsula to photograph the incredible ice caves that had formed there. Their ArtPrize entry is three photographs from this expedition, "Krypton", "Heaven Sent", and "Crystal Cathedral" all printed on high quality canvas. "Krypton" is a 75 inch wide and 50 inch tall triptych (three pieces) while "Heaven Sent" and "Crystal Cathedral" are 26 inches wide and 40 inches tall. Each piece shows a different perspective of being inside the Grand Island ice caves with sun shining through and reflecting off the mineral rich ice curtains that form from the rocky cliffs above.
