Ruins March Forward

Ruins March Forward, a painting from the Athena's Timeline Series, is influenced by our connection to classical forms and architecture. The shapes are dissected with diagonals and linear movements that could easily have been caused by a natural catastrophe or simply the aging process that dramatically breaks down a perfect structure leaving behind shards of texture and muted marble like color. The painting is on archival quality clay coated board that is cradled on 2" depth framework of birch plywood .
