Bubble Gum Aftermath

Bubble Gum is something we are introduced to at a young age. We blow a bubble to see how big we can get it only to have it pop all over our faces and leave behind a sticky mess. As we grow older bubble gum becomes something else and we stray from that thought we once had to create the biggest bubble. I used bubble gum as a subject matter to display something fun and a little whimsical. When we put the popped sticky mess on a face that shows age it creates something slightly ironic. This work is a series of faces varying from young to old showing the irony of the popped bubble gum that we associate with a younger generation. Using these I want to create something fun and thought provoking to the viewers.
