Transcendence

This concept was thought out five years ago to record historically the old commuter station before its demolition. In my memories it functioned as a walkway to get from Michigan Avenue to the Central Station. However, from a historic standpoint its life and significance proved much richer. It was constructed in 1892 as a transportation facility to handle tourist traffic during the 1892 World's Fair. Although most of the transportation building was demolished in 1972 when Amtrak relocated its services, the wooden core of the station remained until its 2009 demolition. This bridge served many means as a transporter of people, demonstration of innovation and a metaphoric window to the future. My idea was to mimic an upfront dynamic perspective that reaches toward infinitude.
