Psalm 23

This entry is an Acrylic Painting inspired by, and representing Psalm 23, verses 1-3: "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake." I created the painting with a lot of detailed texture and movement, to make the viewer want to step inside and experience the soft retreat of the green pasture. The painted path, leads to the quiet waters and to the rising sun, which is representative of God being both our Shepherd and the "Light of the World." The bold and beautiful red trees captivate your attention, and represent the possible distractions in life that can cause us to step off God's guided path. However, the rays of sunlight that illuminate the canvas are representative of God's presence in the midst of our detours.
