They Once Were Weeds

Carol Foerch's avatar Carol Foerch

The loom woven weed pocket contains plant materials from my land. The work reminds me of the cycles of life: a seed is planted and nurtured, then grows to become a plant providing food or beauty. The loom has woven cloth for thousands of years and its woven threads include the stories of Life. The bare and simple beauty of nature intertwines with our daily actions and interactions.
