"Kamryn" my wife, my muse. This piece explores and celebrates the lines and forms that can be found within the human body. Picking them out as individual elements, stylizing them, and tying them back together to create one concise sculptural experience. Each element of the body is a piece of sheet metal, cold forged by hammer and anvil, ground, polished, and welded into place. While in the fabricating process I playoff the contours of the flesh and the anatomy within, looking at every piece as a sculptural form in and of itself. As these individual pieces are being created I explore line and form, how it may represent the particular segment of the body, and how it will transition into surrounding forms. I see this representing how we are all built, comprised of many individual elements to create a whole. In this piece I'm exploring the imagined boundaries and layers of these physical aesthetic forms.
