King Of Wings

I see beauty in everything but of all the insects butterflies are the most beautiful and they are also the most positive symbol of transformation. The Monarch I painted in this piece titled "King of Wings" show incredible strength and endurance when they migrate sometimes 2,500 miles. They are known as the long-distance champions!! I love to capture pictures of nature and seeing this Monarch on Mackinaw Island quickly caught my attention and as he was enjoying the nectar I was enjoying the beauty of this moment. This show-stopping image of the Monarch is a hand-painted photo where various mediums were used to achieve this 3-dimentional look. Watercolor was the primary medium used for the Monarch showing off his luminous wings. "King of Wings" is double matted and has a lovely brown wood frame accentuating the beautiful image. It is earthy, warm, and impressive.
